We’re beginning to look forward to Christmas this year, and getting a tree is top of the list. In recent years we’ve gone to Bullbanks Farm (Halstead Road, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6 3PT) who have a good range and who can supply a decent stand and will trim the lower branches and drill in the [...] I took advantage of the bright blue skies this morning to get out on the bike and do one of my regular routes. If it wasn’t for stopping and taking some pictures and videos, I’d have got back before the downpour at 12:30! We drove out to Lavenham for lunch – a lovely drive out on the A134 through Leavenheath and Newton, and taking the shortcut across to Great Waldingfield and then to Lavenham. The Cock at Lavenham [...] After a very wet Friday, today dawned with clear blue skies, and the opportunity to do one of my regular cycle routes – 26 miles through some lovely quiet countryside south of Colchester. I’ve put the route up on the excellent Google Pedometer site which makes it very easy to keep track of your cycle, running, [...] West Bergholt is a village to the north of Colchester, on the Nayland Road. Some way away from East Bergholt in Constable Country, the village boasts a couple of pubs with a reputation for good food. |
