We’ve set up Essex Days Out to help you make the most of your time in Essex, whether you’re visting for the day, on holiday for a week, or have been living in Essex for the whole of your life!

You will be able to find information about the seaside, castles, countryside, towns and villages, and much, much more! Essex Days Out is brought to you by two librarians – one with a keen interest in local history and who is a Colchester Tourist Guide, and one who is the brains behind the technology. We aim to make sure that the information is up to date, useful, and entertaining.  We set up the site in September 2009, and will be concentrating on loading content in the months to come.

If you are coming to Colchester and want a tour, we can provide personally tailored tours of the town for individuals or groups, and take you to some of the nearby countryside (we can get you to Constable Country in half an hour!)
