We set up Essex Days Out in 2009 to help you make the most of your time in Essex, whether you’re visiting for the day, on holiday for a week, or have been living in Essex for the whole of your life. We’ve been going on days out in Essex together since 1982, and one of us is a Blue Badge qualified Tourist Guide, so we like to think we know quite a bit about the subject!
You will find information about the seaside, historic buildings, countryside, towns and villages, and much, much more.
In 2026 we decided to stop providing event listings – after 17 years it had become a bit of a chore!
I always mean to congratulate you on your wonderful ideas for trips out and interesting venues which are open to us all in Essex. Do you do any walks in the Harwich area?
No, your best bet is the Harwich Society who do walks in and around the town.
Just took a few minutes to look at your website and am very impressed. Informative, entertaining with lots of interesting ideas of things to do in Essex. Fascinating stuff.
