Bertie Bunny, will be hosting what could be Essex’s longest Easter Egg Hunt on this year. The hunt will take in features and sights along the length of the Epping Ongar Railway from Ongar through to Coopersale. Throughout the weekend, Bertie will be bouncing around the Railway helping children find where he’s hidden all the eggs. Every child who finds all of the rabbit’s eggs will receive an Easter egg for themselves. Bertie Bunny, Head of Eggs and Easter said: “Last year it took me ages to hide the eggs but with the extension of the hunt to Coopersale it’s going to take me even longer. If the Railway ever gets into Epping I’m not sure how I’ll manage!”

Spains Hall

There has been a house on the site of Spains Hall for nearly ten centuries. The Grade I building was named after Norman owner, Herve de Ispania, who held the Manor at the time of the Domesday Book in 1086, but was built c1570. Spains Hall has been in continuous occupation by only three families ever since.
