Battlesbridge Antiques and Craft Centre
We reported on a visit to Battlesbridge earlier this year, where we spent some time looking around a couple of the antiques centres. Yesterday we dropped into the multi-storey antiques and craft centre, and were impressed.
The huge building dominates the skyline, and we headed straight up to the cafe on the fourth floor. It’s a charming cafe, chintzy, and with great views either side out through the long windows which you can see at the top of the picture to the left.
After our tea and teacake we made our way down through the various floors. It’s a warren of a place, and the serious antiques hunter could spend hours there! If you have trouble with stairs you’re going to struggle..
There are dozens and dozens of dealers stalls throughout the building, with furniture on one floor, and antiques of various degrees of antiquity – not entirely sure about the Eric Cantona signed football boot!
There are craft stalls as well, especially on the ground floor, and an outside area with a range of antiques around a pond with a fountain.
