Easter is quite late this year, hopefully giving us more chance of a warm one!
Good Friday is the 18th April, and Easter Monday is on 21st April. As the Essex school holiday dates are the two weeks before Easter – starting on Monday 5th April – there are lots of family friendly Easter events throughout the first part of April across the county. There are any number of Easter egg hunts and craft activities in all sorts of locations.
If you want to take the children on a train ride to discover Easter eggs you could try Barnards Miniature Railway near Brentwood or the Colne Valley Railway near Castle Hedingham. If you like gardens, the gardens of Hyde Hall and Marks Hall also have Easter Egg Hunts. Many of the Essex Country Parks are also holding Easter activities, as are some of the Essex Wildlife Reserves. The Royal Gunpowder Mills are having an Explosive Easter, whilst at Audley End they are planning an Adventure Quest.
You can find all the details for these and many more events on our April Events in Essexpage.
