Heritage Open Day : Colne Light Ship
Bit pressed for time today, what with the Chappel Beer Festival scheduled for this afternoon, so we popped around the corner to take the chance to get on board the Colne Light Ship. The red ship has been a feature on the Colne as you cross the river at The Hythe for many years. Launched in 1954 as a light ship, it’s been used the the sea cadets for several years, and some of them on duty today gave us a warm welcome, and there was a barbecue starting up! And there are also a number of vintage buses which you can get a ride on.
