Returning to Essex

Posted on 26 October 2009 by Mark Watson

There’s something quite special about returning to Essex from Kent via the Dartford Crossing at nighttime. The slow moving traffic enables you to marvel at the beauty of the white headlights of the the traffic from the opposite direction queueing over the bridge as they come towards you.

We had been in Canterbury for the day, visiting no.1 Son, who at the university there. It was a beautiful afternoon, but not much time to do any sightseeing, as delivering food parcels, and heading into town for lunch were the top priorities. Mind you, having a meal in a very old building, in a room overlooking the Old Weaver’s House dating from 1500A.D. was a treat.
