36th Aldham Old Time Rally

 

The 36th Aldham Old Time Rally took place this weekend (June 2013). It was dry, and whilst not as bright as the previous few days, as long as the weather gods hold off with the rain, that’s fine!

It took place just up the A1124 from Aldham, close to White Colne – it was very easy to find, and huge car park well marshalled by a large group of volunteers. When we arrived the main display ring had the army vehicles of all sizes being put through their paces, from small jeeps to much larger beasts!

There were stationary displays of a wide range of vehicles – motorbikes, buses and coaches, cars, steam traction engines, diesel engines, and more. Lots of tents selling various bits and pieces, a bouncy castle and other amusements for children, a beer tent for the adults, plenty of hot food. Lots of people were picnicking there, and a good time was being had by all. So keep an eye open for next year’s event, and here are some pictures to give you an idea of what’s on display :
