Gardens to visit in Essex

There are lots of beautiful gardens to visit across Essex, and we have listed the major ones that are open regularly on our Essex Gardens page. Gardens listed include big ones such as the gardens of the magnificent stately home of Audley End, RHS Garden Hyde Hall and the internationally famous Beth Chatto Gardens.

As well as the chance to visit these famous gardens, there is also the opportunity to visit small – and not so small private gardens in towns and villages across the county. These are gardens that are open as part of the National Gardens Scheme. The gardens come in all shapes and sizes and show their owners love of gardening, and in many cases how it’s possible to make a beautiful garden in the most unlikely of spaces. We add all the gardens that are open as part of the National Gardens Scheme in Essex to our monthly listings, so you can plan your trip to a garden alongside all the other events that are happening in Essex.

We have written feature articles about our visits to various gardens – click here to browse them, to help you choose which one(s) to visit!
