Get Up and Grow this half term at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, with fun family activities and a daily garden trail.
There are lots of flowers at Hyde Hall for pollinators to enjoy. Get to know these garden visitors on your way around the trail, and learn what plants you can grow for them at home.
Storytelling: Tuesday 1st June 2021 – sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm & 2.30pm (meet at the Welcome building)
Join accomplished storyteller Mike Dodsworth for an exciting tale about pollinators, packed full of imagination and chances for everyone to help tell the story.
Planting workshops: Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd June 2021 – sessions at 10.30am, 11.10am, 11.50am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 2.40pm, 3.10pm & 3.50pm (Hilltop Lodge)
Make personalised pea head people for you to take home and grow a full head of pea shoot hair. Within a few weeks, watch your pea pods emerge and then enjoy eating the fresh peas as a healthy snack. Fresh peas taste very different to those that are frozen.
Please note: Planting workshops have limited availability to allow for social distancing. All visitors wishing to take part must have a wristband, which is free and available at the Welcome building. Wristband holders can also enjoy colouring a pollinator crown to wear around the garden as they follow the Get Up and Grow garden trail.
Falconry displays: Friday 4th June 2021, 10am–3pm, (in the garden)
Enjoy static displays of hawks, owls, falcons and eagles, as well as interactive and educational flying demonstrations, and learn all about the history and modern-day use of falconry. Eden Falconry will be on hand to answer your questions about these magnificent birds.
