National Garden Scheme : Jericho Cottage

Jericho Cottage at Blackmore End is open each year as part of the National Garden Scheme. I’ts not the biggest garden that is open for the scheme, so would probably be good to visit as part of a day out, combining it with a trip to another garden or a tearoom. We opted for a tearoom, and went to the Lordship Tearooms which is a Wilkins Jam tearoom at Writtle College just a few miles away.

The garden is at the back of a small antiques shop, and although it is small there is plenty to see, including a Victorian greenhouse, a shepherds hut and a pond.

A good garden to visit if you are looking for ideas for your own small garden, whether it’s in a town or a village
