more details
Built around 1500 for Thomas Paycocke, and now owned by the National Trust, the house, with it’s stunning woodcarving and elaborate panelling, is a grand example of the wealth generated by the cloth trade in Essex in the 16th century. Outside, there is a beautiful and tranquil cottage garden, being renovated by volunteers who are doing an amazing job.
