Tour of Britain 2010 Stage 7 Colchester

Stage 7 of the Tour of Britain cycle race finished in Colchester this lunchtime, and we were there to cheer on the riders going up the final straight on East Hill.

They had been in the saddle about 4 hours, starting in Bury St Edmonds, with rolling road blocks for most of the day, minimising road delays, including the run in to Colchester, which only had a few roads around the High Street blocked for the day (still cause enough for some to complain!).

After coming down the narrow Brook Street, the riders turned a sharp left and headed up East Hill. It’s a couple of hundred yards, and whilst the leaders pelted up it, some of those whose role was to get their team-mates to the front to take part in the sprint eased up once their job was done. One of these was Bradley Wiggins, who pedalled very slowly past us about 1 minute into the video below!
